LA Street Art. Spread the word.

Chick with style: Mars

Style is definitely being passed on to the next generation, and it’s a beautiful thing. For kids to have this cool sense of identity at such an early stage is pretty fresh for me to document. Photographically, I get to showcase these fun little lookbooks and display how far fashion has come to all walks of life. A sense of history and the future as Mars rocks out her Jordan Vs and accessorizes with her shades and iphone 4. Yes, being a kid is definitely fun!
Part of what I love about photographing kids or any person for that matter is capturing them in their most raw, natural form. These images of Mars are a reflection of the wonderful style of her parents, but I know Mars will look at these pictures 10 years from now, and realize that her identity of coolness started an early age. It is important to document these moments. Nothing beats looking back at a visual journal.
LA Street Sessions

Walking around LA is one of my fav things to do. You never know what treasures you can snap. I saw this guy walking in the LA river, and was like, ” I wonder what that dude is thinking about.” I found the art of street shooting a therapeutic hobby. Its a “shoot what you love” process. This is what builds passion in my opinion.
Culture Shock LA

Collaborations with Culture Shock Los Angeles are always one of my favorite things to do. The positive energy that they bring to the community and hip hop culture is so inspiring. CSLA is hosting for the very first time the 12th Annual Choreographers Showcase in Long Beach this Saturday. Please come out if you can make it!

We started out shooting in my little neighborhood of Silver Lake. My boy, Earl, is a fellow photographer as well. He’s doing one of his many jumps of the day. Love it. Shout outs to Krystle to the above left for representing LA.

Kameko killin it!

We finished off the shoot in the streets of downtown LA. There is so much character and beauty in Los Angeles that I forget how blessed I really am to have been born and raised here. What has been so important for me in my journey is to surround myself around passionate people. Everyone in CSLA lives this mission and lifestyle. I’m so grateful to be friends with all of you and help spread the word about your talents. Till the next one!

Reed Space, NYC

Tucked away in the Lower East Side District is one of my favorite stores ever, Reed Space. It’s a lifestyle boutique that carries everything from apparel, art, books, and decor. Jeff Staple, who I think is a huge inspiration and influencer, is the creator behind it all. Check it out!
